Essendon Football Club and Chadstone Kia have thrown their support behind Laura and Glen Atwell and their brave two-year-old daughter, Ivy.
Ivy is thought to suffer from rare mitochondrial disease Leigh syndrome, which is typically characterised by progressive loss of mental and movement abilities.
Given the little girl’s special needs, the family was in need of a new car and the club happily contributed to the Atwells’ purchase of a brand new Kia Sorento from Chadstone Kia.
Fleet Manager at Chadstone Kia Graeme Annett was a driving force in the process and wished the Attard family the best.
“Chadstone Kia are delighted to be able to support the Atwell family in the purchase of their new Kia Sorento,” Attard said.
“We know the Sorento will make a difference to their travelling comfort.”
The baby Bomber was given an all-access tour of The Hangar last year, and Glen Atwell said it was an incredible experience.
“My family are lifelong members and my dad signed her up the day after she was born,” Atwell said after the tour.
“We’re so grateful for the football club (for) hosting us.”
