Dashing VFL Bomber Nick Hind’s excellent season has been recognised with selection for the Victorian State Combine in October.
Hind first donned the sash in 2016 and solidified his place in the 22 by playing 15 games last season.
The 23-year-old has taken his game to new heights in 2018, utilising his natural speed and evasive skills to break congestion and set up attacks on goal.
He has also become a consistent ball-winner, averaging 24 touches in his 14 games, while finishing in the best players six times.
VFL coach Dan Jordan says Hind’s selection is a credit to the work his charge has put in on the track to broaden his game.
“Obviously, his speed and his run and carry are his main weapons. He’s a really diligent worker in terms of bringing good attributes that are attractive to recruiters, which obviously caught their eye this year,” Jordan said.
“He’s worked bloody hard. He’s now in his third year with us and he’s come a long way from a small defender to work his way into the midfield.
“He can play inside and outside and give some really good speed away from stoppages.”
Hind will attend the Combine on October 5 at Etihad Stadium along with the other seven VFL invitees. The combine is a physical assessment that tests the athletic capabilities of the invitees over a series of drills.
