Essendon star Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti has received two, that’s right, nominations for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year after his stunning performance in the Bombers’ defeat of North Melbourne on Saturday.
McDonald-Tipungwuti was instrumental in the five-point win at Marvel Stadium and two of his four goals have been recognised.
The first was the sensational forward’s snapping goal in the third term, using his mind-boggling evasive skills after gathering the ball deep in the forward 50 to beat four would-be tacklers and snap truly.
The second was his stunning game-winning goal, a snap again – this time on a much tighter angle – that saw him thread the needle to reclaim the lead with just 20 seconds remaining in the enthralling contest.
And to end the night...
