Experts say he was the best midfielder in the Draft and now he’s a Bomber.
Darcy Parish was selected by Essendon with selection five overall.
As an under age player, he’s ticked almost every box.
A two time All-Australian who was a consistent performer in the TAC Cup.
“You can’t go wrong with a kid like Darcy Parish,” AFL Academy Coach Brenton Sanderson said.
“He’s an incredible talent. He wins the footy and spreads really hard outside.
“He plays defence as well, which I really like. He’s smart around the goals, courageous and tough.”
Parish spent his first season at the Geelong Falcons playing off half back, before moving in to the midfield this season.
“For his size he’s super competitive and a ripper to coach,” Geelong Falcons Coach Andy Allthorpe told Inside Football.
“You can really challenge him and teach him about the game and he takes everything on board.
“Wherever he goes they will have a lot of fun working with him.”
