The Essendon Football Club recognised its famed 1965 premiership heroes with a motorcade at the MCG on Saturday, all thanks to the Club's co-major partner, Dutton One.
Club legends Ken Fraser (Captain), John Birt, Russell Blew, Greg Brown OAM, Kevin Egan, Alec Epis, Ted Fordham, Ken Fraser, Darryl Gerlach, Geoff Gosper, Graeme Johnston, Don McKenzie, Charlie Payne, Geoff Pryor and David Shaw OAM were all part of the motorcade.
On September 25, 1965, Essendon faced off against St Kilda at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of a crowd of over 104,000. The Bombers emerged victorious, securing a 14.21 (105) to 9.16 (70) win, marking the club's 12th premiership.
The 1965 team still holds a special place in the hearts of an entire generation of loyal Bomber fans.
