A trio of Bombers are set to return to the field this week should they recover well after getting through the club’s main training session strongly on Tuesday.
Essendon’s GM of football Dan Richardson says Dylan Shiel, Jake Stringer and Mitch Brown are all on track to put their hand up for selection this week for the club’s important clash with Hawthorn on Friday night.
“We had our main training session today and the players will get tomorrow off ahead of our final session on Thursday,” Richardson said on Tuesday.
"Dylan Shiel has looked good on the track ahead of the match, so we’re expecting him to be available.
“Jake Stringer trained fully and was back up to full-speed running today, so he is a strong chance to return.
“Mitch Brown is another who looks like he will put his hand up for selection following his wrist soreness. Keeping him out two weeks ago was a precaution and he has trained well since, so hopefully he will be back on the field this week.”

Dangerous forward Orazio Fantasia, who has been on the sidelines since injuring his quad in the club’s narrow loss to Sydney in round eight, is not yet a certainty to be available.
“Orazio Fantasia also trained today, but he still has a couple of boxes to tick to return from that quad injury. He is in the mix, so hopefully he will pull up well and be ready to take on the Hawks.”
Fantasia will get his chance to prove his fitness on Thursday, with the final team to be announced at 5pm that evening.
