Essendon fans can now sign up as 2008 members for what will be an exciting and historic year for the Bombers.

The 2008 membership theme is 'My Club' and coach Matthew Knights and captain Matthew Lloyd are calling on supporters to get behind their team and be a signed-up part of the Essendon family.

""Essendon fans are famous for their loyalty and love of the club and, if your heart bleeds red and black, we want you to join up and show your support,"" Knights said.

""In 2008 we need your support in what is shaping up as a defining and exciting year for the mighty Bombers.

""We have an exciting, young list - maybe the youngest in the competition - and this is a group of young men that will play the type of fast, skilled, interesting football that the fans want to see.""

Lloyd said the entire playing group has vowed to start pre-season training together in early November as a show of strength and commitment for 2008.

""Essendon has gone through a lean period in the past few years and I think the commitment is there from the players and coaching staff to make 2008 a memorable season and one the fans will enjoy and be proud of,"" Lloyd said.

""Players that have had one or two years in the system now - such as Paddy Ryder, Scott Gumbleton, Alwyn Davey, Leroy Jetta, Courtenay Dempsey and Tom Hislop - are very exciting and we expect them to develop into quality players for us this coming season.""
