Essendon has named its AFLW side to take on the Western Bulldogs at Whitten Oval for Friday night footy.

The Bombers have made two changes from last week's team that defeated Gold Coast on the road, with Georgia Gee and Amber Clarke both ruled out due to injury.

Exciting first-year forward Emily Gough has proven her fitness over the last week and will make a return from injury, while Bomber fans also get their first look at Brooke Brown this season, with the important 32-game defender overcoming a lengthy calf injury sustained in pre-season.

Fresh off three consecutive victories in the midweek footy period, the Dons will be hopeful of continuing their good form as they return to Victoria, taking on Co-Captain Bonnie Toogood's former side in the Dogs for the first time in their AFLW history.
