Essendon has named it's first side for 2024 to take on Geelong in their first official practice match at Windy Hill on Saturday.

After a big pre-season the Bombers have picked a strong squad to face the Cats who they met in last season's elimination final.

Draftees Amy Gaylor and Emily Gough will take to the field for the first time with off-season recruits Maddi Gay and Bess Keaney both starting on the ground.

Daria Bannister pulled up really well following her first match back last week and will start in the forward line.

Entry to the match is free with first bounce at 1:00pm (gates open at 12:00pm). Can't make to the game, the match will be live streamed via the Essendon website.
