Essendon has named its extended squad to face Fremantle at the MCG on Sunday afternoon. 

The Bombers will have two confirmed outs, with Jordan Ridley set to miss the next three games with a hip flexor strain, while midfielder Archie Perkins has been omitted.

Among the potential inclusions this week will be Ben Hobbs, Nick Bryan, Alwyn Davey Jnr and first-year Bomber Archie Roberts, who've each enjoyed good stretches of VFL form over the past month.

Defender Jake Kelly has also been named in Sunday's squad after missing last week's clash with an achilles injury.

Forward Kyle Langford is set for a key milestone, named for his 150th career game.

The Bombers will name their finalised 23-player team for the clash at 5pm AEST on Friday night, ahead of the inaugural Community Game at the 'G on Sunday.
