Essendon is proud to announce its 2024 Tackling Childhood Cancer game will take place in round nine against the GIANTS.
The annual match in affiliation with official charity partner Challenge will occur at Marvel Stadium.
It marks 21 years of the Bombers’ partnership with Challenge which begun in support of 2000 Premiership player and cancer survivor Adam Ramanauskas.
The Bombers will proudly wear the Challenge logo on the front of their guernsey which also features a yellow armband. All player-issued guernseys will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to Challenge.
In partnership with the club’s charity partner Challenge and supported by official partner Yakult, the Bombers will raise funds and awareness to support children and their families as the club aims to give cancer the boot.
Challenge is a not-for-profit organisation that provides daily support for children and families living with cancer or a life-threatening blood disorder from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Ahead of the game, the Bombers will welcome Challenge children to again paint selected players’ boots which will be game-worn and available for purchase, with all proceeds going to Challenge.
The Challenge children will then be invited to Essendon’s game against the Giants to walk onto the playing field with players as they run out for the match.
Tickets for round nine’s clash are on-sale and available for purchase here.
