Turner fits in at the Demons

Essendon assistant fitness coach Glen Turner will leave the club at the end of this week to take up the role of fitness coach at the Melbourne Football Club. Turner has been with the Bombers for the past two seasons having spent the previous eight years with rugby leage clubs St Geogre Illawarra and the now defunct Adelaide Rams.
Remarkably Turner is the third assistant of head fitness coach John Quinn to take on a senior role in the past few seasons. Andrew Russell was Port Adelaide's senior fitness coach - and is expected to take on the role at Hawthorn - while another former assistant Justin Cordy has been appointed at the Western Bulldogs.
""I would like to thank Glenn for his terrific contribution while he has been at the club. He has managed the weights program very well and played an important role in the match day preparation of the Bendigo Bombers. I am sure he will have an impact at Melbourne,"" Essendon football operations manager Dom Cato said.
On face value some Essendon supporters might be disappointed with the outcome of the just completed trade week. A midfielder was the Bombers’ priority and none was forthcoming at the trade table. The Essendon match committee sniffed around a few, opposition sides threw up a few, but in the end the asking price was too high. Why rob Peter to pay Paul?
