Essendon mid-fielder Cory McGrath has signed a deal that will see him play the next two seasons at Windy Hill. Fremantle attempted to lure McGrath back to Western Australia, however the 21 year old was determined to stay a Bomber. ""Essendon is a great club and I want to play with them. I am keen to make a career for myself at the one club,"" McGrath said earlier today.

McGrath was drafted onto the Rookie List from South Fremantle in the 1999 National Draft. After an impressive first season McGrath was elevated to the senior list. The quick mid-fielder played 13 senior games this year and was a key contributor in all of these matches. He demonstrated class and poise across the mid-field and stamped himself as a regular senior player of the future.

McGrath missed out on September action this season and this was one of the deciding factors of him staying at Windy Hill. ""I didn't play in the finals this year but I am keen to be a part of the action next year. We have a great team and I want to be involved!"" McGrath said. Bomber fans can expect big things from McGrath in the future - watch out for Number 28.
