As a major partner of the AFL, AAMI has a proud history of supporting Australia’s most loved sport.
In 2023 AAMI will be extending this support to the Sir Doug Nicholls Round, joining with the AFL to celebrate the immense contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to Australian Football since its beginnings.
AAMI’s support of the community ticketing scheme ensured a significant allocation of tickets were available to First Nations community organisations and people to access to watch the Dreamtime at the ‘G game, and be part of this important cultural celebration.
Thousands of tickets were distributed to over 60 Aboriginal groups and community organisations from the clubs, the AFL and The Long Walk.
This included:
- Andarra Aboriginal Corporation
- Victorian Aboriginal Health Service
- Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency
- Melbourne Stars Aboriginal Basketball Club
- Connecting Home (Stolen Generation organisation)
- Clontarf Foundation
- Yoowinna Wurnalung Aboriginal Healing Service
- Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
- Australian Indigenous Doctors' Association
- Tjindu Foundation
- Southport School (Qld)
- Ngukurr School (Roper NT community)
- Geelong College
- Koorie Preschool
- Inner Gippsland Dhelk Dja
- Aboriginal Support Dreaming

The Long Walk also distributed over 1,000 tickets to participants of The Long Walk, which helps to drive much needed funds for the program.
