Ben Hobbs
27 disposals, seven tackles, one goal
'Hobbsy' had a really good game with a lot of contested possessions and clearances. He had a man on him tagging him the whole game, so he had to fight through that and came through really well. He set us up from stoppages and to have seven tackles, defensively he was great for us.
Will Snelling
28 disposals, nine tackles, two goals
'Snell' had an excellent game. As a forward, he had a quarter on ball to free him up from a tag, but he had a great mix between contested and uncontested. He used the ball really well and played an AFL-like game in the VFL, so we’re really happy with his performance.
Lewis Hayes
17 disposals, seven marks
A solid game from ‘Haysy’. Without Kaine Baldwin down back, he was one of our main key defenders, so he had a big job and got in a lot of contests. He made good decisions for when to mark and spoil. There were a couple of times where he had to push back really hard in defence and showed a good understanding of how we want to play.
Nick Hind
20 disposals, six marks
'Hindy' was another one who had someone in his back pocket all day because he’s been getting a lot of ball in the VFL. He still got a good amount of the ball and his leadership was important for us in ensuring our setups were right.
Alastair Lord
18 disposals, five marks
Lord had a pretty good game. Defensively he did some good things and he kept his man quiet. He tried to play the way we play our defence and when he had the chance, he attacked the game.
Rhett Montgomerie
21 disposals, nine marks
One of Rhett’s better games. He competed really hard, beat his man and also came third man in to help the defenders numerous times. When we had the ball, he set us up with our attack as well.
Pat Voss
11 disposals, six marks, one goal
‘Vossy’ got into a lot of contests on the day which is what we wanted to see. He competed well and got some good opportunities to score for us. His goal-kicking was off a little bit, but I really liked the way he competed. Defensively, he played the way we wanted our forwards to defend with a couple of intercepts and tackles.
Tex Wanganeen
Seven disposals, three tackles, two marks
Tex hurt his ankle early so it was a good effort to get through the game. It held him up a little bit, but he did well to play out the whole game. A couple of times he looked really exciting for us.
Cian McBride
10 disposals, three marks, two tackles
Cian did a little bit of back and ruck work for us. He worked hard when he was on the ground and his follow up around the ball was encouraging.
Massimo D’Ambrosio
16 disposals, five marks, two tackles
‘Mass’ came on at half-time after being an emergency for the AFL side, so he was pretty keen to get amongst it. He ended up getting a little bit of the ball and setting us up. Five rebound 50s was a great effort and he worked hard. He had a couple of big tackles defensively too, so it was a tough day for him, but he came with great attitude and got a bit of the ball and defended well for us.
Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti
10 disposals, four tackles, two goals
‘Walla’s’ forward half pressure was the highlight. When we look at our goals from turnovers, he seems to be there with a tackle, intercept or spoil. He worked so hard on his defensive pressure that he ended up getting two goals form that, so that set up his attacking game.
Anthony Munkara
Two disposals, one tackle
It was his second full game for us, he got to a number of contests this week which was really good. We’re spending the weeks with him teaching our leading patterns and game plan so he’s continually learning about how we play the game. It was good to see him out there again and he’s building into it so hopefully we see some good on field results in the near future.
