Davey Jnr's Debut
Essendon fans were treated to one of the more special father/son debuts in recent times when Alwyn Davey Jnr earned his first AFL game.
Davey Jnr's debut goal was something to behold, a long-bomb on the 50 which was willed up home by some familiar mannerisms.

Adding to the specialty of the moment was the presence of Alwyn Snr at the MCG as he watched his son kick his first major.
Walla returns
After 588 days, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti made a special return to the AFL after being activated as the Bombers' tactical sub during the final quarter.
For anyone who associates with the red and black, it was a goosebumped-filled afternoon which was capped off when 'Walla' kicked a long-range goal to bring the MCG to its feet.

Dons lock away AFLW signings
The Bombers are thrilled to secure the services of Leah Cutting and Georgia Clarke as delisted free agents ahead of the 2023 AFLW season.
Cutting arrives at The NEC Hangar from St Kilda, where she played seven games throughout Season Six before being placed on the inactive list due to work commitments.
Mia-Rae Clifford historic 100-game milestone
The undefeated Premiership co-captain has been an integral part of the VFLW Bombers’ list for the past two years, something she’s looking forward to continuing for the foreseeable future.
The celebration of her 100th game will come in line with the VFLW Premiership flag unveiling, one that was achieved after an undefeated season.
Stringer to return via VFL
Forward Jake Stringer has been declared fit for selection after overcoming a hamstring injury.
Despite being deemed “medically available” by senior coach Brad Scott last week, the 28-year-old was held over for an extra week to further build fitness.
Now having checked every required box, GM of High Performance Daniel McPherson says Stringer will suit up for his first game of the season, with a return via the VFL or AFL yet to be decided.
Brad Scott's weekly presser
Brad spoke to the media ahead of this Sunday's game.
An update on Jake: "It's just part of the build for Jake. He was medically available for round one, but we just really thought he needed another solid week of training – which he did, he matched or exceeded training loads last week – but then we want to set him up to play his best footy," coach Brad Scott said.
