Midfielder Brendon Goddard was the sole Bomber to score votes for the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award in Saturday night's loss to Fremantle.

Goddard was gallant in defeat, as he gathered 35 disposals, took four marks and laid six tackles. It's the second consecutive week that the 29-year-old has topped the votes for Essendon.
