Nick Bryan is prepared to make the leap this season in a bid to secure a frequent best 22 spot.
For Bryan, minutes in the ruck can be hard to come by with both Sam Draper and Andrew Phillips on the list.
To make himself more versatile Bryan is adding to his game, with the young ruckman continuing to develop his forward craft.
Featuring in a career high five matches in 2022 and having previously won the club’s VFL Best and Fairest, there is no denying the talent that Bryan has.
The hard work has already started for Bryan, with the ruck/forward focusing on continuing to build his fitness base and size.
“I have been trying to build a good fitness base and keep putting on size each year,” Bryan said.
“That’s been the aim all pre-season.”
In the side’s final match simulation for the preseason, Nick Bryan spent time in the ‘black’ side which contained majority of last season’s best 22.
Here, he and Sam Draper formed a formidable duo, rotating between ruck and forward duties.
“They’re (midfielders) good to work with, it was good to share some duties with Draper,” Bryan said.
With the 2023 season kicking off with a hit out against the Suns, fans will be eager to see Nick Bryan take the next step in his young career.
