Essendon's 2023 campaign is in full swing after a gruelling first session for the year at the NEC Hangar.

A 2km time trial in glorious Melbourne sunshine greeted the playing group, with second-year sensation Nic Martin claiming first place, while seasoned midfielder Dylan Shiel and tenacious winger Sam Durham rounded out the top three. 

On tired legs, the playing group were put through their paces in an hour-long skills session before finishing the day in the gym.
