Patrick Ryder and Leroy Jetta held a junior footy clinic for Tiwi Island locals as part of the club’s three-day trip to the Northern Territory.
Budding youngsters took to the local football oval to take part in the opportunity of having a kick with some of their favourite Bomber stars.
The pair handed out Essendon merchandise and posed for photos with the footy mad fans.
Jetta said it was great to see the passion that existed for the game of Aussie Rules on the Tiwi Islands.
“You can see how much the game means to all of the locals on the Tiwi Island’s and it is pleasing to see such a fanatical following for the Bombers up here," Jetta said.
“The natural footballing ability of the young footballers that took part in the clinic was pretty spectacular to watch.
“Spending a few hours helping them improve their game was a really enjoyable experience as you get the chance to see how much joy it brings them.”
The clinic wrapped up the club’s third trip to the top end in twelve months, an important initiative as part of continuing to build strong relationships with the remote Indigenous communities of Wadeye and the Tiwi Islands.
