Some of the comments from supporters:
“Really excited about this bloke. Great experience for him this year and will definitely be a prominent Bewick type player in the near future. If he is half as good as Brent, look out.” George Kotsovitis
“Will be a very good player - needs to get some bulk about him which should in next year or two and gain confidence with more games a very exiting prospect.” Raymond Nillson
“Harvs is one of those players that can change the game around with some quick, sneaky goals. Hopefully next season he will get a bit more of a run and show some more magic.” Julia Sheehan
“Really looks like a dangerous sort of forward and just might be the Bewick type we've missed.” Biagio Pitruzzello
“Shane shows some potential as a goal crumber. He still needs some development in other aspects of his game. A very promising young player.” Helen Scully
“Showed enough this year to suggest he will be a very good player. A pacey goal sneak who will hopefully develop as a rover.” Simon Remington
“Harvey's got that certain 'something', in a similar mould to Darren Bewick. Hopefully, as he matures as a footballer he'll be able to fill the gap Bewick's departure has left at the club.” Robert Lorenzetto
THE WASH UP:
Essendon fans like what they have seen of Harvey any many believe he might just be able to fill the shoes of Darren Bewick. They said he was an exciting player who will soon become a permanent fixture in the seniors.
ROBERT SHAW SAYS:
Shane’s final six weeks of the season were excellent and he really stepped up a notch at VFL level. That said, it is a huge jump from an under 18 goalsneak to a running midfielder at AFL level and he still has to make that transition. I am confident he can make it. During the pre-season he has to be the hardest worker at this club.
