Following on from Essendon's historic win over the Hawks on Saturday night, head of medical services Megan Smith provides an update on the health of our list and highlight some individual performances.
Performance highlight
Maddy Prespakis was influential throughout the Bombers’ midfield, recording a massive 406 metres gained as she collected her 26 disposals and one goal.
Up forward, Bonnie Toogood covered 306 metres with the ball in hand while participating in six score involvements and converting two majors herself.
On debut, 19-year-old Steph Wales came up against her twin sister Lucy in the ruck and recorded an impressive 12 hitouts.
Maddy Prespakis
Maddy’s impressive performance was off the back of limited training after receiving a corked quad in the practice match against Port Adelaide.
The injury did not hinder Maddy’s performance despite having a heavily taped quad.
Jordan Zanchetta
Jordan has been cleared for full training following her achilles injury and will be available for selection for our round two clash with Carlton.
Olivia Barton
Olivia has been cleared from her calf injury and is back to full training. She will be available for selection this week.
