What some of the Essendon fans had to say:
Lloyd led fantastically all year and always gave 100%. I loved the way he pushed upfield a bit and helped out, and I hope he has another great year in 2008. (Pater George)
A great comeback year for the skipper. He still has a couple of good years in him to show us the Matthew Lloyd that could kick 100 goals a year. (Christian Adamou)
The captaincy, as well as spending a year on the pine, has made Matty a leader hungry for victory and it shows in his play which is hard working and unselfish! (Jeff Tapper)
A good comeback year after major injury, Lloydy's a good leader and capable of another Coleman next year! (Ricke Dovey)
An exceptional year for Lloydy and how good was his goal of the year! (Megan Hildebrand)
