The Bombers have added another AFLW premiership player to their inaugural line-up with Jess Wuetschner signing with the club.
Wuetschner comes to Essendon from the Brisbane Lions as a delisted free agent, bringing 38 games of AFLW experience with her.
The inaugural Lion played in the victorious 2021 Grand Final and was named in the AFLW All-Australian team in 2018.
A two-time club leading goalkicker (2018,2019), Wuetschner is a small pressure forward who has kicked 37 career goals.
Hailing from Tasmania, Wuetschner moved to Western Australia to play WAFL for East Fremantle before being drafted to Brisbane with pick No.34 in the 2016 AFLW draft.
Essendon general manager of football Josh Mahoney said Wuetschner would be a fantastic addition to the Bombers’ inaugural AFLW team.
“To have someone like Jess join the club will be fantastic for our young list. With her experience and leadership, she will be an extremely valuable member of our team,” Mahoney said.

“Jess is talented, competitive and dangerous around the ball. She is looking forward to a new exciting chapter at Essendon and we look forward to having Jess make the move down to Melbourne.”
