Essendon will miss the services of a number of key position players in 2016 after the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling last week.
Here is a look at some of the tall options the Bombers may consider signing as part of the top up program.
Jordan Lisle
Lisle kicked 42 goals in the VFL last season with Port Melbourne. He joined the ‘Borough’ after 23 AFL games with Hawthorn and Brisbane.
Robert Warnock
Warnock is a 206-centimetre ruckman who played 88 games with Fremantle and Carlton. In 2014, Warnock averaged 34 hit outs per game.
Matthew Watson
The 195-centimetre player was used at both ends of the ground throughout his 23 games with Carlton. He kicked four goals against the Bombers in 2014. Watson has signed on to play at East Fremantle in 2016.
Sam Grimley
Grimley is a two-time winner of the VFL’s leading goal kicker award. He played three games for Hawthorn before being delisted at the end of 2015. He has been training with Subiaco in the WAFL.
Mark Jamar
The All-Australian ruckman retired at the end of last season. The 32 year old played 155 games with Melbourne. Jamar played a match in the NTFL last November.
