Adrian Dodoro and his list management team have been given the task of signing up to ten top-up players to join the side for the 2016 season.

The new recruits will help cover the loss of the 12 players sidelined after the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling last week.

General Manager of Football Operations Rob Kerr said the Bombers would target some experienced AFL players.

Here is a look at some of the midfielders/running players who may be considered.

Brodie Martin

Martin played 38 games with the Crows after joining the Club as a rookie in 2007.  He was delisted at the end of 2015 and has been training with SANFL Club Sturt.

Zac O’Brien

O’Brien is well known to Bombers officials having played in the VFL side before joining Brisbane.  He played 13 games after making his debut in 2014, including a 30-possession performance against Geelong.  O’Brien has signed with West Adelaide for 2016.

Ryan Crowley

An accomplished tagger throughout his 188 game career with Fremantle.  He didn’t play in 2015 and was due to play for Swan Districts this season.

Paul Duffield 

The former Docker is now 33 but proved a durable commodity throughout his career.  He played at least 20 games each season from 2009 to 2014.  Last year he played 14 games before announcing his retirement. 

James Kelly

A three-time premiership player, Kelly is highly regarded for his leadership.  He played 273 games for Geelong and was a key figure in one of the club's best eras.  Kelly played in the Northern Territory Football League before Christmas. 

Jonathan Simpkin

Simpkin had stints at Sydney and Geelong but it was his time at Hawthorn that was the most successful.  He was a member of the 2013 premiership side.  Simpkin played 18 games in 2014, but only one last season. 

Nick O’Brien

The ease O’Brien could transition back into the Essendon program may appeal to the list management team.  He played 14 games for the Bombers, including nine last season where he averaged 22 possessions a game.
