Essendon captain, Matthew Lloyd, will play on Friday night against St Kilda.
Lloyd, who turned 30 on Wednesday, successfully completed the two main training sessions and assistant coach, Gary O’Donnell, said he is ready to go.
“He looked good in both sessions and has pulled up really well so he is right to go,” he said.
“He is a very valuable player for us and it is a big boost to have him back in the team.”
Lloyd missed last weekend’s game against the Bulldogs with soreness in his right calf.
He had a MRI scan on Monday which cleared him of any major damage and showed a build up of fluid but nothing more serious.
