Mark Alvey didn’t get the chances he deserved at senior level according to most Essendon fans. However none were greatly surprised that he was de-listed by the club at the end of the season. Supporters felt he played very well for the Bendigo Bombers but that he might have lacked a yard of pace at senior level.

""In the few games he played he wasn’t really a stand out performer but could still prove himself in the years to come - just not here,"" Aaron Reynolds.

""Again excellent for Bendigo but given limited opportunities. Don't see how he can be so good for Bendigo, but not given enough opportunity on the seniors. Tough luck after being de-listed,"" Joshua Ryan.

""Don’t think he is AFL material personally but may prove me wrong if he gets another chance at another club but I doubt it,"" Josef Sakac

""I have been to a couple of games where he has played very well. He is either playing really well, or not well at all, not much in between,"" Christine Jones.

""Personally, I rate him quite highly but I feel that he did not get a very fair go possibly because of his lack of speed,"" Shane Pinto.

""Struggled most of the year when he was given the opportunity to play. Would have expected more games given his previous proven skills and speed,"" Christie Daly.

""Extremely disappointing, had the potential to become a full-time Bomber, just wasn't up to scratch when it really came to the crunch,"" Krystle Williams.

""Mark really struggled. Has got some great skill and a big heart, but i just don't think he was up to it. But at least he tried very hard. Good luck to him over in SA,"" Luke Price.
