The Bombers may have a clean bill of health going into the Round 13 clash with Geelong but they will be minus Dean Rioli after he was outed for three matches by the AFL tribunal tonight. Rioli paid a heavy price after being found guilty of striking on-baller Adam Simpson in the third quarter. It is a big blow to the out-of-form Bombers who need an in-form Rioli to play an important role in the midfield. He will miss matches against the Cats, St Kilda and Adelaide.
Bomber spearhead Matthew Lloyd has been one of the team's best performers for the season. Despite missing two games this year he is leading Essendon's and the AFL's goal kicking ladder with 42 majors. Although Lloyd is having a consistent year the same can't be said for the team and unfortunately they head into the second half of the season with only five wins. The Engine Room caught up with Lloyd after the loss to the Kangaroos.
