The VFL Bombers expect nothing short of another team performance in this Sunday’s Preliminary Final.

VFL Coach Hayden Skipworth admits every person needs to play their part if they are to progress to the Grand Final next weekend.

“We’ve had 23 guys contribute this week, and we expect nothing less from AFL or VFL-listed players,” Skipworth said.

“Everyone needs to play their role, and when it’s their turn to go, they go.”

After falling to Williamstown earlier in the year, Skipworth said the side has done their homework and expects a different result this time around.

“They beat us around the ball in the second half and their midfielders got on top,” he said.

“That’s probably their strength, their smalls and their midfielders.

“So we’ve got to win our fair share of the ball, and give our forwards enough opportunity to kick a winning score.”

The entirety of the football club is expected to be out in force on Sunday in support for the VFL team.

Skipworth said there is a real sense of belief at Bomberland.

“It’s certainly exciting for the club, and it’s certainly exciting for the players,” he said.

“They’ve put in a lot of effort this year, both the AFL-listed and VFL-listed guys, and it would be great reward to win this weekend and make a Grand Final.”

“All the club has bought in, the players have bought in, and there is a real belief this year so hopefully we can ride this wave a little bit longer.”
