Tickets are currently sold out for Essendon's Dreamtime in Perth blockbuster against Richmond at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.

Further tickets are likely to become available as a result of unused allocations, and if required a secondary release of tickets will occur on Friday at 11am AWST via Ticketmaster. Tickets will be strictly limited and subject to availability.

While acknowledging Victorian club members who would miss out on the showpiece game of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, Essendon CEO Xavier Campbell said a potential capacity crowd at Optus Stadium would be an incredible result.

"We are so pleased the Dreamtime in Perth game has been so strongly received by all football fans in Western Australia and we can’t wait to showcase this blockbuster game on Saturday night,” Campbell said.

“We are delighted that this occasion celebrates the incredible contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to our game and for the first time ever, doing so for the hallmark game of Sir Doug Nicholls Round at Optus Stadium.

“As we stated earlier in the week when the relocation for the game was announced, our club’s clear preference was to play this game at the traditional MCG venue. We are feeling for our passionate Victorian-based members and supporters who dearly love this game and will miss out due to the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 environment. We are working on a replacement game or equivalent benefit for members.

“For those in Western Australia, further tickets may become available as a result of unused allocations on Friday morning. We encourage any members and supporters who have missed out today to be across further ticketing information in the coming days.”

Saturday night will mark the 17th edition of the annual Dreamtime game between the Bombers and Tigers - a tradition that began in 2005 and was played outside of Melbourne for the first time last year in Darwin.

The game will be broadcast live on the Seven Network and Fox Footy nationally, and streamed live via Kayo.

The Long Walk will precede the blockbuster, commencing at 2:30pm AWST from the WACA.

Bombers greats Michael Long and Gavin Wanganeen will lead the iconic Walk. Click here for full details.
