Essendon has gone down by 34 points to Coburg in the VFL at Coburg City Oval this afternoon.

Despite a six goal to one final quarter it was a case of too little too late for the Bombers who trailed all day.

Young midfielder Will Hams was impressive with his attack on the ball both in and outside the pack for the whole afternoon.

Trent Shinners toiled hard for the Bombers booting three goals and providing a target all day alongside youngster Joe Daniher who finished with two.

Josh Toy tried hard all day through the middle of the ground in the best game from the former Gold Coast Sun since he joined the Dons.

Small forward Cory Dell’Olio finished the game well with three goals.

In positive news for Essendon supporters the team got through the match unscathed with no major injuries from the hit out.

Essendon’s VFL team now has a week off with the VFL state game taking place next weekend.
