Nicole Watson from Torquay, Victoria says: Will Hille and McVeigh be too old by 2014? Like the Myers and Watson option but surely Monfries should also be on the list. I consider him to have real leadership potential.

All these guys, can be the next captain. One of them should get it, appointing another late-20's bloke as captain, is stupid. The next captain should be our captain for a decade.

He is a really intelligent player, works in the midfield engine room and would be prominent around the ground. He has had to work harder than expected to become an elite player so he would be a good mentor to younger players with illusions about what it takes to make the grade. He is also quite articulate and by 2014 would be well equipped to communicate the coaching staff's instructions to the playing group.

Off field he has the respect of his teammates and from a club marketing perspective, is articulate and comfortable with media (50 metre penalty is brilliant!). Maybe Scotty Gumbleton may surprise a few this year .. here's hoping.
