What can you expect at Essendon home games in 2015? A celebration of the club’s history, a focus on family activities and an atmosphere that is truly Essendon.

All home games will feature a mobile Hall of Fame display (outside Gate 3 at the MCG, Gate 5 at Etihad Stadium) showcasing our 142 years of rich history.  The display will change from round to round to feature different club artifacts and themes.

This weekend’s match against Hawthorn will focus on the 1984 and 1985 Premierships. Past players from that ‘Glory and Fame’ era, along with the Premiership Cups, will be on hand to greet fans pre-game.  There will also be a special guard of honour as the players run out on to the ground.

Families are encouraged to come to the footy on Sundays, as children under 15 are free throughout the season.  Food prices have also been reduced – you can now buy a pie and a soft drink for $8 (previously $10).

An enhanced AFL Kids Playground located between gates 5 and 6 at the MCG, will feature new activities such as face painting, extra footy skills, a Woolworths Cafe for parents and a Woolworths photo wall.  Skeeta will be buzzing around the playground between 2pm and 2:50pm, so make sure you stop by and say hi!

After the match, weather permitting, fans will be able to have kick-to-kick on the MCG and participate in the customary race to the centre square. Be sure to bring your footy!

Tomorrow we’ll reveal more exciting details about how we’re going to make the ground a true Essendon cauldron.
