Essendon is calling on its members and supporters to don club colours for ‘Don The Sash Day’ this Friday when the club’s faces Hawthorn in a blockbuster clash at Etihad Stadium.
Be it in the office, at school or at the game, Essendon coaches and players are urging all supporters to wear red and black on Friday 28 March.
Essendon coach Mark Thompson urged all fans to show their pride by wearing red and black on Friday.
“What’s important for us this week is that we see our supporters come to the footy on Friday night and proudly don the sash,” Thompson said.
“We want the whole stadium filled up with people wearing red and black. You don’t have to just wear an Essendon jumper... Wear anything red and black on Friday.
“There would be nothing better than at our home game filling up the whole stadium with red and black and making it feel like we own that stadium on Friday night.”
Essendon faces reigning premiers Hawthorn on Friday night at Etihad Stadium. Remaining tickets are limited.
