Essendon Football Club would like to congratulate its major charity partner, Cancer Council Victoria, on another fantastic year of fundraising. The Cancer Council’s Community Fundraising program, which includes the annual ‘Call To Arms’ game, raised over $1.7 million for cancer research, prevention and support programs in 2014.
It was another fantastic year for Cancer Council Victoria, who continue to raise important funds and awareness toward cancer research, prevention and support.
The Club proudly continues to support the important fight against cancer with its partnership with Cancer Council Victoria. Annually, the Bombers play in the ‘Call To Arms’ game during the season raising vital funds and awareness.
The ‘Call To Arms’ game first originated after the club’s players wore yellow armbands in support of teammate Adam Ramanauskas who was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and again in 2006.
In 2015, Essendon and Cancer Council Victoria will celebrate a 10-year partnership.
