Essendon’s Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL) team will open its season against Collingwood on Sunday, May 2, with AFL Victoria announcing the 2021 Robert Rose Cup fixtures.
The Wheelchair Bombers are set to play eight games from May to August as they look to go one better and claim the VWFL premiership after being a runner-up to St Kilda in last season’s competition.
The Dons face Hawthorn, Collingwood, St Kilda and Richmond, playing each team twice throughout the year.
A round five and six same-day double-header fixture against the Tigers and Pies looms as a highlight of the tournament.
The 2021 VWFL Grand Final is scheduled to be played on Sunday, August 29, and will be contested by the two top-placed teams at the end of the home and away season.
