Bio: Described as a prolific ball winner, Magner impressed many in the football world despite limited opportunities at a senior level. Drafted by the Demons in 2011, the midfielder is renowned for his bullish attitude around stoppages and willingness to win the hard ball. The midfielder joined Port Melbourne in 2014 after being delisted by the Demons in 2013.

List manager Adrian Dodoro says: “James Magner is just one of those guys who is a prolific ball winner. We wanted to get some guys that could find the ball and he’s a natural ball finder. Both Mark Neeld and Neil Craig were pretty strong advocates for him.  We decided that we wanted to give him the opportunity and as he got the phone call he couldn’t say yes quick enough.”
