Essendon will take an unchanged line-up to Adelaide for its round two clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday.
While disappointed to surrender a 40-point lead in last week's one-point loss to Hawthorn, senior coach Ben Rutten said he would back the same line-up to face the Power at Adelaide Oval.
"For the most part we were pretty pleased with the way we performed," Rutten said.
"Obviously that third quarter was something we certainly want to improve on ... We went away from the style of the game we want to play and there are always momentum swings in games, but it's about how we can reduce that amount of time to as small as possible.
"Getting back to playing our brand of footy - really strong around the contest, defending hard and working for each other - they just need to be the hallmarks of our game."
The Bombers have named Tom Cutler, Martin Gleeson, Alec Waterman and Nick Bryan as emergencies, with one to be named as the medical sub an hour before the 4:35pm AEDT bounce.
They'll also welcome back Matt Guelfi and David Zaharakis from injury, with the pair set to play in Saturday's VFL practice match against Footscray from 12:30pm at the NEC Hangar.
