Another key addition ahead of the 2015 season, Essendon VFL is pleased to announce the signing of ex-Cat Jordan Schroder.

The 22-year-old will join Essendon after being delisted by Geelong at the end of the 2014 season.

VFL General Manager Matt Little believes the young star will add further AFL experience to the growing VFL list.

“Jordan is a great acquisition for us as he is a fantastic midfielder that wins his own ball,” Little said.

“He has a great ability to read the play and consistently performs well at VFL level. The experience that he will bring from a top performing team such as Geelong will be invaluable.”

Despite limited opportunities at a senior level, Schroder has had a highly decorated VFL career. His accomplishments include being part of the 2012 Geelong VFL Premiership team, recipient of the 2013 J.J Liston Trophy and the winner of the 2014 Geelong VFL Best and Fairest.

“Jordan is obviously a very talented player and we are extremely excited to have him on board,” Little said.

Schroder is the 11th signing for the club’s VFL side during this off-season.
