Always Was, Always Will Be.
This NAIDOC Week, the Essendon Football Club joins all Australians in acknowledging the First Nations peoples; the traditional custodians of our land.
We celebrate the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognising the incredible contributions they have made to our football club.
This year's NAIDOC Week theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. It recognises that First Nations peoples have occupied and cared for our continent for over 65,000 years.
The very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples who have maintained ongoing spiritual and cultural connections to the land and sea.
NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace our nation’s history, which dates back thousands of generations.
