Impressive young players Darcy Parish and Kyle Langford are back into the Bombers line-up for the clash with North Melbourne on Saturday.

The teenagers were rested for last weekend’s match against Sydney, but have been among the shining lights for the Bombers this season.

“Players never really stand up and say I’m starting to feel tired but we feel as though there were signs that they needed a rest,” Essendon Coach John Worsfold said.

“They come back into the line-up, their form has been pretty good so we’re keen to get them back up and going."

Parish is averaging 20 possessions a game in his first season and picked up a Rising Star nomination following the Bombers win over Melbourne, while Langford is averaging double the amount of disposals per week he registered in his debut season.

The versatile Patrick Ambrose also returns to the side for his first match since round four.

In his two VFL games, he averaged 18 disposals, seven marks and four tackles.

“He may play a role he’s played in the past where he does a little bit of ruck work,” Worsfold said.

“He’s in pretty good touch in the VFL, working really hard, so we’re keen to get him in.

“We know how competitive he is and he’s been solid for us whether we’ve had him up forward or in the back half.”

Conor McKenna joins an inexperienced forward line that last week included first gamer Mason Redman, defender Mark Baguley, 20 year old Orazio Fantasia and 22 year old spearhead Joe Daniher.

“It’s a very young group, they haven’t played much footy together,” Worsfold said.

“That’s a little bit about what this year, where it’s good for us – we can try some guys up there and give them the opportunity.

“Ultimately the aim will be to settle that forward line so the guys play a lot of footy alongside each other.

“But throughout the course of this season, we’ll certainly have a look at different players and the flexibility they offer by playing up forward.”
