Essendon will blood its third AFL debutant of the season, with Indigenous small forward Irving Mosquito a confirmed starter for the Dreamtime in Darwin match against Richmond at TIO Stadium.
It'll be an extra significant debut for the childhood Bombers supporter, who idolised Michael Long and will have the Essendon legend supporting him from the stands on Saturday night.
Hailing from Halls Creek, Mosquito joined the club via pick No.38 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft from Gippsland Power, despite Hawthorn having rights to him under the Next Generation Academy rules and choosing not to match the Bombers' bid.
The energetic, silky skilled 19-year-old was close to an AFL debut last season until a hamstring injury put his dream on hold.
He impressed with limited game-time against West Coast in the Marsh Community Series, but has had to bide his time in the reserves since.
Senior coach John Worsfold said Mosquito had earned his chance to shine on the big stage.
"This is a pun, but he brings a real buzz around the place," Worsfold said.
"He's worked really hard. Since he's been up here, some of his games in our match sim have been electrifying. He deserves his opportunity."

While Mosquito has been used across half-back at times in Essendon's scratch matches, Worsfold said he expected him to do his best work inside 50.
"He's obviously very quick around the ball and has really good closing speed, so he puts pressure on defenders," he said.
"He takes the ball cleanly, he's a beautiful left-foot kick and he has very good hands on the lead, so it's going to be exciting just to see him around the footy."
Mosquito joins Sam Draper and Ned Cahill as the Bombers' AFL debutants so far this season, while off-season recruits Andrew Phillips, Tom Cutler, Jacob Towsend and Mitch Hibberd have already made their club debuts.
The Bombers will name their full team for Dreamtime in Darwin at 6:20pm AEST on Friday.
