The trip, proudly sponsored by Antler, will see Dyson Heppell, Courtenay Dempsey, Ricky Dyson, Hal Hunter, Luke Davis and Ariel Steinberg visit the remote communities of Wadeye and Tiwi Islands andattend the opening round match of the Tiwi Bombers NTFL season in Darwin.
Essendon Football Club supports the Wadeye and Tiwi communities through sponsoring and mentoring the Tiwi Bombers and the Wadeye Magic Football Clubs.
The trip will provide the players with a great mix of remote community interaction and diverse cultural experiences.
Young gun Dyson Heppell said he was looking forward to visiting the remote areas and learning more about indigenous communities.
“It’s such an eye opener,” Heppell said.
“Visiting the communities in the Northern Territory is an experience that you never forget,” Heppell said.
“Seeing all the smiles on the kids faces and the small impact we can have on their lives makes the whole trip very rewarding and puts things into perspective that’s for sure.”
