Round 1 of season 2009 kicks off in a matter of hours so time is running out for you to ensure you don't give the opposition a head start in any of our great range of competitions. There is the traditional footy tipping, the brilliant new Superboot competition, the Wizard of Windy Hill and the 2009 Crystal Ball competition.
They are all great fun and put your football knowledge to the test in the battle for great prizes.
The pre-season is now completed. What did you think of each team’s performance? Who are the big improvers and who is being over-rated? Put your skills to the test in the 2009 Don Footy Tipping Competition on essendonfc.com.au. Over $8000 worth of prizes are up for grabs.
The first prize in this year’s Don Footy Tipping is $2000 cash thanks to Don and a 50-inch Samsung Plasma Screen TV valued at $2500.
Second prize is two tickets to the 2009 Crichton medal and one night’s accommodation at Crown Promenade on Crichton medal night. The third place winner will walk away with a 2009 team-signed guernsey. There will also be a Samsung Mp3 player given away each week for one of the entrants who correctly tips eight winners.
SuperBoot is a brilliant new competition that will pit you against fellow Bomber fans in a battle to accumulate the most goals this season. It’s new, it’s fun and it’s easy! Pick one player each week, changing week by week, and see how many goals you can tip to be kicked in 2009.
You must pick someone from each club over the 22 rounds, and can't pick an individual in successive weeks or more than twice. Whoever tallies the most goals over the season will win a 50-inch Samsung Plasma TV valued at $2500. Second prize is a leather-bound edition of Glory and Fame signed by Matthew Lloyd and Matthew Knights and third prize is a $100 Bombershop voucher.
Who will be the Wizard of Windy Hill in 2009? The quest is back again in 2009 with the Bomberland Fantasy Footy Competition. Can you pick a squad of Essendon players that will score the most points in 2009? And to make matters more interesting, we are asking you to also select a handful of opposition players each week, with their points also being added to your score. So study the form, pick your team, and you could be known as the Wizard of Windy Hill for 2009!
