Welcome to the all new BomberLand website for 2002. As the players strive for the premiership cup in 2002, we will be bringing you the best coverage of the Bomber’s campaign right here on BomberLand – the only official website of the Essendon Football Club. The club is committed to bringing all Bomber fans closer to the club through an interactive, easy to use and up to date website. This year BomberLand will be the place to be for all Essendon fans.

NOTE: you may need to press the reload or refresh button on your browser to ensure all of the new files needed for the new website load properly, including the left menu bar.

The Essendon Football Club decided to continue on developing its own website, and opted out of the AFL / Telstra deal for two major reasons. Essendon Football Club wanted to maintain 100% control over the development of its website and Essendon Football Club wanted to maintain 100% control over the content on its website. We believe that by doing so we can give supporters better access to the club and better online coverage of the Bomber’s attack on the premiership cup.

WHAT’S NEW?

We listened to your feedback over the past season, and have redesigned the site with your comments and suggestions in mind. Most Bomber fans were very happy with the site as it was, so our new layout reflects that feedback, but updates the site to a more modern look and feel.

One of our key considerations was easy access to all features through new navigation options. We have retained the side navigation menu, but added a new top menu, new menu navigation systems for each section of the site.

In terms of content, we will have new feature stories on the public website, and this week’s story asks can Matthew Lloyd kick another ton?

We have launched an all new tipping competition, focusing solely on the Bomber’s game each week, but with the some amazing unique prizes on offer for the winners at the end of the season.

We have redesigned the photo gallery, which will include more behind the scenes photos of all the players. The new Bomber Fans section contains a fans diary written by Bomber fanatic David Thurling, also a fans photo album and all new Kids Biz kids section. Our expanded interactivity section gives vistors to the site more opportunities than ever to get involved in competitions and other interactive features.

Our match coverage will be bigger and better than ever in 2002. We will continue to bring you all the news, previews and reviews of the matches, along with photos and statistics. Plus this year we will bring live scores and updates from every Essendon game. We will also bring you the best coverage of the Essendon VFL team, as well as sister teams North Shore and Redland Bombers.

We have also updated and expanded all player profiles, to bring you more information about your favourite Essendon players. By popular demand we have included a question and answer segment to get you up close and personal with the team.

The revised Club section now includes pages devoted to the volunteers who help the club so much during the year, and a community page to highlight the club’s work in the broader community. A bigger and better club history section now brings you information on all club honours, individual achievements and premiership teams – including team photos from all premiership sides.

We hope you enjoy the new website, and that it continues to bring you timely updates on everything Essendon during the footy season. We are always looking for ways to improve the site, so if you have any feedback on the new site, please email us at webmaster@essendonfc.com.au and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
