Similar to the team, Bomber defender Sean Wellman didn’t have the game he was hoping for against Sydney. After a one goal first term, Essendon kicked six goals in the second quarter to head into the major break with a one point advantage. Bomber supporters were confident the team would continue on strongly in the second half, however the wheels fell off and Sydney kicked away to win by 54-points.
