The Essendon v Richmond exhibition match to be played at The Oval in London on October 13th appears certain to be adandoned. Safety concerns have been raised in the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington last week. The AFL met with officials from Essendon and Richmond this morning and it was agreed that if there were any apparent risks the match wouldn't go ahead. ""We certainly aren't prepared to take any risks and right at the moment you would have to think it isn't the best time to be flying half way around the world,"" Jackson said. A meeting next Tuesday is expected to confirm the decision to abandon the match.
