What some of the Essendon fans had to say:
""Great to see a young Watson coming up. Players shouldn't be rushed and he is making progress. Look forward to the next couple of seasons."" (Robert Bennett)

""Good imposing physical presence on the turf. He will improve with more game time under the belt. Only downside is his decision making a touch slow but will improve with experience. Has the ability to be as good if not better than his dad - time will tell."" (Wayne Mitchell)

""Jobe has really stepped up this year. His read of the play as well as his tackling is a big feature of his game. He has showed that he can only get better with experience."" (Bill Papageorgiou)

""I had previously thought that Jobe was a little too slow to play top footy. However, what I saw late in the season changed my mind. He has a great football instinct and will continue to improve with maturity."" (Jonathan Scott)

""Needs to be injury free and given a few games in a row without being dropped to really show what he can do. Seems to have unlimited potential as a key position player."" (Shannan Stevens)

""Good foundation year showed great poise and certainly knows how to read the play. Lets hope Jobe has an injury free pre season and becomes a permanent fixture in the team."" (David Beasley)

""Fair season without getting much opportunity. Injuries still seem to be a bit of a problem with him. Would love to see him fully fit as he definitely has a lot of ability."" (Chris Irvine)

""From what we saw of him he clearly football smarts and can use them, if he has a solid pre-season and sheds a little body fat he should be in for a big 2005 if given senior opportunities."" (Rex Walker)
