David Hille is yet to record the 50 game milestone but his current form suggests he is a 100 game plus player. The 22-year-old is on the verge of his first finals campaign and said he is looking forward to the coming few weeks of football. ""I was really disappointed to miss out last year. I think I have had a lot more impact this year and feel like I deserve my spot - that is pleasing in itself. I just hope we can play well when it comes to September,"" Hille said.

Hille has had to deal with a lot of expectations from Essendon supporters since arriving at the club at the end of 1999. The Bombers have always seen Hille has a long-term prospect and the coaching staff have taken their time developing the young ruckman. ""Essendon has always had such good ruckmen for a long time and have a tradition of having quality big players such as Simon Madden and Paul Salmon. It is hard to live up to that, but ultimately I just want to get the best out of my own potential,"" Hille said.

The former Dandenong Stingrays player has played every game in 2003 and has been the team’s number one ruck option. In recent weeks Hille has started to stamp his authority on the game and his work at stoppages has given his side first use of the ball. Hille has also been dangerous up forward this season and contributed three goals to the Bombers’ scoreline against Fremantle to bring his tally to 19 for the season.

Hille is looking forward to the big clash against Collingwood on Friday night where he will take on Josh Fraser. Fraser was the number one draft choice in the National Draft that saw Hille picked up by Essendon at selection 40. The pair have only played against each other once since playing AFL football. Hille had the beater of the duel in Round 5 and is hoping for a repeat performance. ""When we play well we are a tough team to beat and on Anzac Day a lot of things went right for us. All of our good players played well. If we can keep our injuries to a minimum and get our best team on the park then there is no reason why we can't go well in September.""
